To optimize your sound for Zoom meetings in which you plan to sing, please follow these instructions to enable original sound

On a laptop:

  1. Enter the Zoom meeting (or any zoom meeting to do this ahead of time)

  2. At the bottom left corner of your screen, click on the up arrow next to “Audio” (the button with the microphone)

  3. on the menu that pops up, select “Audio Settings”

  4. Under “Microphone” in the audio settings menu, uncheck the box that says “Automatically adjust microphone volume” and then adjust the slider next to “input volume” to about the middle of the slider bar

  5. Under “Audio Profile” select “Original sound for musicians”

  6. Exit the audio settings menu by clicking the red “x” at the upper left hand corner of the menu screen

  7. Once you’re back in your main Zoom window (where you should be able to see your face), click once on “Original sound for musicians: off” which is now located in the upper right hand corner of the window. It should now read “Original sound for musicians: on” — You will need to do this step each time you enter a new zoom meeting

  8. That’s it! You’re ready to go!

On a Mobile device (phone, iPad, tablet, etc):

  1. Open the Zoom app

  2. At the bottom right corner, tap the 3 dots that say “More”

  3. About three quarters down under “Settings” select “Audio”

  4. Select “Original Sound”

  5. Enter the Zoom meeting

  6. On the toolbar at the bottom of the screen, drag it to the left until you see “More”. If you don’t see your toolbar, simply tap the screen anywhere and it will appear at the bottom of the screen.

  7. Tap “Enable original sound”

  8. That’s it! You’re ready to go!
